Your own globe of the world

Turn and zoom a realistic Earth made from NASA pictures: city lights at night, clouds, the glow of the atmosphere, and day and night as they are right now. Pin the places that matter to you with names and notes, colour the countries you have been to or want to see, and join pins with routes to see trips and distances. Everything is saved in your browser.

  1. Drag to turn the globe, and scroll or pinch to zoom. Search for any town or country to fly there.
  2. Click a place and choose Add pin, or click a country to mark it as been there, want to go or a group you name yourself.
  3. Open a pin and choose Route from here to draw an arc to another place. Download a picture or save a file to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the pictures of the Earth come from?

From NASA: Blue Marble for the day side, Black Marble for the city lights at night, and NASA cloud and elevation maps. Borders and towns come from Natural Earth. They are part of the page, so nothing is looked up online while you use it.

Can I mark the countries I have visited?

Yes. Click a country and pick a group, like Been there or Want to go. You can rename the groups, change their colours and add your own. The Countries list shows how many you have in each.

What does Live light mean?

It shows where it is day and night right now, from the real position of the sun. Move the slider to see the night move across the world over the next hours.

Where are my pins saved?

In your browser on this device. They are never uploaded. Save a file to keep a copy or to move your globe to another device, and open it there.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Turn the globe with one finger, zoom with two, tap a place to mark it and double-tap to drop a pin.

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no fees, no sign-up, no watermarks added by us and no daily limits. Your device does the work, which is why it can stay free.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the tools keep working without an internet connection. You can also install Weseth Tools as an app from your browser.
